Noticeable flaws, but in my opinion, I think this game will turn out to be more than just pretty graphics.

Honestly, I have the belief that XIII has the potential to redeem the franchise back to what it once was pre-Playstation 2.

Or maybe I'm just hoping?

We'll see come March...

I'll give a summary.
Basically there is this new character, whose name in Yaag Rosch. Supposedly in the game, this character will be Lightning's "rival", and will have a very interesting and "engaging" background. This guy even looks like he could be her father...but, hey. I'm hoping...as for the rest of us are probably also...that these characters will begin to unfold into a deep, inticate game and story that we've been so hoping for.

Hey all, here's a general sum up of not only what's coming from Square Enix, but also Playstation in general.

All of this information was gathered via the Playstation Store in the E3 2009 section.

Playstation Portable

PSP Go

Sony unveiled a new version of the PSP, called PSP Go. This new PSP is 40% lighter and smaller than the original PSP-1000.

It features built-in Bluetooth, Wi-fi, as well as 16 Gigabytes of Internal Flash Memory.

The PSP Go also has support for the new M2 Flash Memory, which allows you to expand the memory capabilities of the PSP Go even further.

In addition to all of these new features, the PSP Go will also retain support for all previous features. Including UMD, Memory Stick Pro Duo, Playstation Store, Skype, and all other features presented in previous PSP hardware.

The PSP Go controls are tucked away, under the screen, and slide out much like full keyboard mobile phones.

Media Go

Media Go is new media management software for the PSP, downloaded to your PC. It allows you to manage every bit of media on your PSP, much like it's predecessor, Media Manager.

Media Go also allows you to browse and download content from the Playstation Store via your PC. So you can store that content on your PC and swap it out between your PC and PSP as you please.

I highly recommend this to all PSP users, and you can download it from the Sony Creative Software website.

http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/...efault_enu.asp

Media Go also has support for Sony Ericsson mobile phones.

Soul Calibur Broken Destiny

Namco has officially announced a new title in the Soul Calibur franchise entitled Soul Calibur Broken Destiny.

For the first time ever, Soul Calibur has made it's move to the portable gaming industry.

Not much was unveiled about the game, however, the Trailer reveals the new guest character for this game. Kratos.

Dissida: Final Fantasy

Two trailers were released at E3 for this game, both of which may be downloaded via the Playstation Store on your PSP, PS3, or PC.

The trailers reveal ALL of the featured characters. The characters include one villain and one hero from each Final Fantasy, save for XI and XII. You will have the ability to choose which side to fight for. Cosmos or Chaos.

Below is a complete list of characters featured in Dissidia: FF, as well as the confirmed voice actor, some who we already know, and some new guys.

Cosmos
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Konami unveiled, during the Sony Press Conference, the latest installment in the Metal Gear Solid franchise.

The game is set in 1974, ten years after Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

Of course, the genius behind the Metal Gear Solid franchise returns to direct and write the script for this new installment, Hideo Kojima.

Gran Turismo

Also announced, Gran Turismo is coming to the PSP.

Other PSP Related

Also, the Playstation Store within the PSP has been updated to allow you to access the Video section of the Playstation Store and download content direct to your PSP.

Playstation Network

Not much to announce here, just the usual. PSN has signed contracts with several new television channels for a wider range of downloadable HD content for viewing on your Playstation 3's and PSP's.

Playstation Home is receiving new content and items on a regular basis with several planned spaces coming from EA, Capcom, Namco, and other big name gaming companies. (One that stood out was the Resident Evil 5 space, might be worth checking out).

Sony has committed to pushing more and more content into the Playstation Store and PSN that is attuned to every type of gamer.

Playstation 3

Upcoming Non-Square Enix Games

The Sony Press Conference unveiled an epic library of up and coming games for the Playstation 3.

Among the games unveiled were God of War III (due for release in March 2010), LittleBIGplanet Add-Ons, and several others (aka, I forgot, watch the Press Conference to find out).

Motion Sensor Technology

Call it catching up to Nintendo, or whatever you want, but this is probably the most awesome thing I saw during the entire conference.

Coupled with the Playstation Eye, gamers will be able to use two wand-like controllers to interact via Virtual Reality with the game.

Sports games are assumed, but they also demonstrated using the motion sensor controllers to draw, sword fight, first and third person shooting, as well as strategy gaming.

Really worth checking out when they get released.

Final Fantasy XIII

Now, the series which brought upon this entire website.

During the Sony Press Conference, they unveiled the newest Trailer for Final Fantasy XIII, which featured the English voice actors as well as several CG Movies and in-game graphics.

The full trailer is available via the E3 2009 section of the Playstation Store.

Final Fantasy XIV

Yes, it is confirmed. Final Fantasy XIV is already in development, and is planned to ship in 2010.

Final Fantasy XIV is another MMORPG and is slated to be only available for the Playstation 3 console.

A trailer unveiled during the press conference revealed the in-game graphics.

Final Fantasy VII

As Nacho stated in an earlier post, Final Fantasy VII has officially been released, as of 3 days ago, to the Playstation Store and is available for $9.99.

I've not gotten my hands (or internet connection rather) on it yet, but the Playstation Store reports the download size as 1.39 Gigabytes. One would assume that there would be no need to change between disc 1, 2, or 3, and that those parts of the game will automatically continue on.

Other PSone Classics

During the Press Conference, Sony announced that they will be pushing up to 50 classic titles into PSN.

Here, is a current and up-to-date list of all PSone classics available via the Playstation Store.
